This review is based on the Fiesta Hotel Paraiso Floral and not the twin hotel next door.

Length of stay 7 days 9th February to 15th February 2014
Arriving late afternoon transfer time around 40 minutes due to drop offs, Reception was quick and efficient, all staff well-mannered and happy to help,
Bedroom/ Bathroom
Big and basic on 16th Floor with excellent views up to mount teide and across los-Americas. Plenty of space lacking in furniture, no air con, old fashioned electrics 220v. bathroom plenty of fresh trowels each day, only soap supplied, but again large and airy, not sure if it was because of the 16th floor but we had piping hot water all day, every day, which makes a change from other places,

Wi-Fi is available but at a cost 4 euros an hour, 10 euros a day but is available free outside in the bars, cafés and supermarket.
No faults at all with the layout of the hotel, plenty of staff cleaning, serving,

Lifts
Now the lifts are a different designed for 6   but possible 4 max, depending on your size, some days work fine, others hit and miss, but never caused us any concerns
Restaurant
Can be busy at times, but never no problems in finding a table, staff where quick to clear up and reset, odd time times we set the table ourselves when the staff were busy which they do not mind, plenty of choice on all meals to feed you , so cannot go hungry unless you are too picky
Dress code on a night, some turned away with swim shorts and track suits on, lockers outside, for bags, materials in which I through was a good idea, you kept the key.
Nice area to sit outside if needed at breakfast and lunch, beer and wine on tap, soft drinks etc. on an evening if you want a glass bring it in from the bar upstairs otherwise it’s the paper version.
Pool Area
Yes the pool area opens at 9:00am behind a locked gate, yes certain individuals queue from around 8:10am and up the stairs,  this was rectified by having breakfast in the normal time, and as soon as the queue moves you just nip out the disabled door exit, we had the same spot all week  no hassle, but it is annoying when the 8:10am brigade put their towels out and then disappear into breakfast, nobody bothered to remove them but normally you could find a spot up to 10:00am or it is down to the lido,
Entertainment
Please read other reviews, stayed in one night, but mainly headed into the village pub, entertainment for adults started at 10:00pm if you could find a seat, but nothing to write home about. you take your choice.

Overall
You would only visit this hotel, because you want to, to use as a base for travelling out, the resort is small and quiet, starting to be run down  empty shops etc. Shortage of restaurants, 2 decent bars.

For the cost cannot fault it, cheap 3 star hotel, further to the rumours after speaking to the Thompson Rep and staff, yes the hotel is closing for a short summer period to carry out small refurbishment ready for the winter season,   but talk of a upgrade to 5 star, would in my opinion would be impossible due to the nature, design and age of the building, apart from re-building it.

Pros
Good Food
Friendly Staff.
A place to chill out.

Cons.
Cost of Wi-Fi
Safety box 13 euros a week
The need to hire Fridge, fans, hair dryers etc.
TV.  One English channel CNN but you can pay to upgrade 18 euros a week for sky news and channel 5
Entertainment programme

Finale

Would we go back, yes for a cheap chilled out break, for a week the hotel ticks all the boxes?
If visiting Tenerife for the first time no, but hiring a car would be must.
