Arminda hotel and Spa 2013 crete
This was our second visit to the Arminda hotel and spa, and
again could not fault it, even though it is all inclusive in a sense, it’s not
for people who want to get as much food or drink down your neck, this hotel
offers a chilled out atmosphere, basic entertainment on a night, this year I
noticed it is geared up for the kids from, 9:00am to 9:00pm who all seemed to
enjoy it.
We emailed ahead for a choice of room in the block above the
snack bar/pool, and were not disappointed, the reception on booking in was
first class, and the staff really friendly, The room we choose was 322 on the
second floor, gives panoramic views from Hersonissos on the left to Stallis on
the right overlooking the bay, The room is large and airy with fridge, TV and
the normal extras,
Mainly used the top pool next to the block, but does get
busy so you need to be early with your towels etc., Snack bar opens at 10:00am
and Water is free from the cooling machine, just save your empty bottles, There
is bottled water to buy, but the cooling machine was fine, no ill effects.
Wi-Fi is available for a small charge, and worked perfect on
my kindle fire,
Food, there is plenty of choice, but does tend to repeat
itself, good choice on breakfast, and a microwave to reheat, seating is either
outside where it is cooler or inside, it is best to collect your knife and
forks first with napkins and set your table before getting your food, saves
time trying to find a table if busy. Snack bar is well stocked throughout the
day with sandwiches, toasties, pasties, fruit and cakes, All drinks on tap so
you help yourself, again there is only a choice of 3 spirits to pick from, so
advise buying a couple of bottles at the airport if you prefer something with
more alcohol in,
No problems with taking drinks, ice and food back to the
hotel room, all staff friendly and happy to help you,
If you fancy venturing out taxis were only 7 euros to
Hersonissos on the left and to Stallis on the right, normally someone else may
be waiting so share to half the cost, getting back it’s just a case of standing
near the road and watch for a taxi with its sign lit, and flag it down.
Not many English stay at the hotel mainly east European, but
don’t let this put you off visiting here,
Overall a perfect week chilling out and for the price, well
worth it,
